According to an ODOT spokesperson a woman driving a van traveling eastbound at about 9PM on December the 14th near MP 16 crossed over the fog line, drove down a steep embankment, and rolled her vehicle until it came to a complete stop. The car was completely totaled and the driver was transported to Riverbend Hospital for her injuries. Her dog was so badly injured that it had to be put to sleep. There were at least three other accidents that occurred on the McKenzie Highway this day, one near Leaburg, one near the Mather’s Market and another one in Thurston according to eyewitnesses !
